Shore Points Amateur Radio Club Minutes of the meeting held October 15, 2015 at the Brigantine Community Center The meeting commenced at 7:32 PM with introductions, with club president Rick Hitchen presiding. Fourteen voting members, one lifetime member, one associate member and four guests were present. Club Treasurer, Bob Webb read the financial report for September. There was a complete accounting of all of the club's financial assets in the amount of $828.86. Dave Holmes motioned to accept the report, Bob McFadden seconded and the motion passed unanimously. We had a moment of silence for silent key Frank Devito W4OZ followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the previous meeting, held on September 17, 2015, were read by the club secretary, David Holmes. Rick motioned to accept the minutes, Bob McFadden seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Repeater Report: Gary Paul reported that the DR-1X has been installed as the 2 Meter machine. The old repeater and controller were sold to Tony Giardina for $700. Rick brought up the topic of linking the repeaters. Gary said that it probably wasn't feasible and suggested that we should encourage more members of SCARA to participate in the SPARC nets. Tony said that he would look into how to link the repeaters as there were several different possibilities. Rick suggested moving the 10 Meter net to the fourth Thursday night of the month at 7:30 PM, but it was decided not to do that at this time. The talk-in for the foxhunt will be the 985 repeater and the hunt will be on 146.560 MHz. Tony gave the club's gavel to Rick and requested a receipt for $700 for the repeater gear he purchased from the club. Two new members applied and were accepted into the club; Dan Rollins III WA2ZZE and Chris Chamberlain N2IVN. Marv Tyndall pointed out that the constitution and by-laws are in need of review and revision. Dave said that there had been some discussion amongst the officers to that affect and that it will be addressed after the first of the year. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM. Immediately following the meeting a 50/50 drawing was held. Dan drew the winning ticket which was held by Bob Abrams and the club netted $31.00.
